Start Smart is the umbrella term for ACCA’s substance abuse prevention education continuum which is provided annually to Capital Region youth and families. Start Smart Field Day is a FREE community event to kick-off ACCA’s substance abuse and bullying prevention programming in area schools. There are plenty of activities, games and food for the entire family, as well as a special awards ceremony to announce the ACCA’s 2016-2017 Annual Prevention Poster Contest winners.
The ACCA delivers prevention education to over 5,500 Capital Region children each year to help support healthy communities and prevent underage drinking, drug abuse and other risky behaviors. Programs are customized for grades K-4, grades 5-8, high school and family-focused prevention education.
