Sarah Nicole Phillips is a Toronto-born, Brooklyn-based interdisciplinary artist. Her recent work is a series of collages created with hundreds of recycled, patterned security envelopes. She says: “I began playing with security envelopes when I had an office job. I would tear open the mail every day and started noticing the intricate patterns printed on their insides. Security envelopes are used to camouflage sensitive and private documents. Their decorative patterns make it impossible to read what is inside. From December 1, 2017, to January 31, 2018, the Lake George Arts Project invites regional, national, emerging and established artists to submit exhibition proposals to the Courthouse Gallery. Preference is given to experimental or non-traditional work created in the last two years. We welcome proposals for special exhibitions, installations, mixed media presentations, and performance art.
